We bought a house!!!

If you were wondering why you haven’t heard from me in a few months it’s because I’ve been pretty busy these days… We are now proud to be first-time home owners! =D

We found a great little place in a nice area that’s just close enough to everything to be convenient (and close-ish to work), while being far enough away to be quiet. It’s on a 1/2 acre of land that even has a vegetable garden! It’s a 2 bedroom, simple white colonial built in 1890 – so it has character. It has 2 full baths, a breakfast nook, dining room, living room, office, and 1 car garage. <3

The cats are going to love it. ^_^

The house is old, but it was very well cared for. It had all of the important updates done already semi-recently – new-ish roof, updated electrical, new windows, etc. So we don’t *need* to do anything to the house – just move in! But, at the same time there’s lots of potential. We just have to find the time and money to do all these “little” projects – like removing the wallpaper in almost every room, putting a window in the office, adding a coat closet near the front door, relocating the office door to accommodate the ginormous TV (hahaha), replace the ceiling fans/lights in most of the rooms – especially the dining room, etc. Oh – and completely redo the upstairs bathroom because it was redone in the 50’s and looks completely hideous! hahahaha

Anyway. We’re thinking of having a house warming party around the end of February / early March. Hopefully we’ll be able to get unpacked and settled in enough by then.

If you want to check on the house, take a look here in the photo gallery. Keep checking in because we’re going to continue to post new photos to document our progress. =)

Guess I won’t be moving out to California anytime soon. That’s ok – I’m always up for a visit.
