Or maybe it’s because I haven’t had time or the need at work to write up involved how-tos lately? I could just be frazzled from the busy summer and wedding planning.

It’s taking me too long to get around to returning to my drafts, and collecting the steps and/or details to finish my blog posts. My drafts are building up! I really just need to buckle down and finish them. At least I have the forethought to start the drafts with notes as I think of them so I can return to them later

We don’t need two large screen TVs or quite so many DVDs. We’ve already donated 6 bags of old clothes that have been piling up in our closets for the last few years. Boxes have been piling up in our basement that we really should go through one of these days. And what are we doing with all of these now-ancient computer books on our shelves?

I took this photo on a rainy day in San Francisco of Lombard St. last weekend. I took the liberty to take full advantage of the Photoshop CS5 beta to clean it up and remove the majority of the distracting bits (power lines, signs, a few people, etc.). It took a little while and I had to combine different approaches, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Before:

After:

I can’t wait for the announcement on Monday. I can legally say now that I was/am a CS5 Photoshop beta tester. I joined late in the program and didn’t have nearly as much time as I would have liked to dedicate to testing, but I’ve been very impressed with the new features.

Here’s a quick example of some possibilities of what you can do. It’s nothing too elaborate, but should be impressive if you know what to look for.

So – I’m engaged! It was all very exciting. We tried to hold off telling everyone but close family right away because we were going to use our annual BBQ bash the following weekend.

So telling family was exciting. But then.

I have no office to go in to – I’ve been working from home until they open a new office in the area. I don’t have many “girl” friends – especially not locally – so going into an office with women that know me was my opportunity to have that girly-squealing experience. Darn.

Then the majority of the people that attended the BBQ bash had already known about the engagement. A good portion of those who had not known about it were not able to make it. And to this day, there are still a few people who probably don’t know about it. So there was some excitement, but not as much as I had hoped for.

Moving on, I’ve decided on my Matron of Honor. I was ecstatic to hear that she was hoping that I’d ask her. To top it off, I’ve chosen another bridesmaid – though she lives on the Left Coast, so I wasn’t even sure if she’d be able to make it, let alone participate in it. But she was really hoping that I’d ask her too! Win! My third and probably final member of the bridal party would love to be a part, but may not be able to financially. There are a few other candidates, but it just wouldn’t be the same. So I may have a small bridal party – and I’m ok with that.

I’ve been kind of anxious to look for and find my dress. I’ve noticed that my taste has changed dramatically. That couldn’t possibly be because I’m *cough* older. I think I’m nervous to find my dress, and anxious to get started looking because I have such an odd taste in clothing and am not expecting to find a dress that’s “me” right away.

I’ve been looking around at online catalogs – even watched a streaming runway show. Omg – how uncharacteristic of me! I’m feeling all girly. It’s weird.

I’ve been trying to setup an appointment to try on dresses with my Matron of Honor, but both of our schedules with work are hectic these days. I ended up going on my own last weekend thinking “what the heck – I’ll give it a whirl. Could be fun, right?”

Totally lame.

The bridal salon lady was really sweet and trying to get me excited about the dresses (beautiful dresses) – but it just wasn’t the same. Thankfully I’m taking Monday off and will be having a “girls’ day out” with my Matron of Honor and have an appointment to look at dresses. (I can’t wait!!!)

It’s just odd. I’m not used to my wanting to seek these types of experiences. Normally, I’d rather chill out and read or watch a movie, or better yet, go to a LAN party than to want to jump around squealing about rings and dresses.
