Hello new Xbox.
My Xbox 360 finally died. After a week or so of it locking up on movies and games (and even sometimes on the initial startup screen) more and more frequently, it finally just gave up last night. I got the “blinking red lights of doom.” Apparently that’s a “generic hardware failure.” Thankfully I got the warranty, so I was able to exchange it for a new one - which works beautifully.
I think the old xbox was heartbroken because when I was out visiting Ruth, I played her Wii and decided that I needed to save up for one…
In other news, Wordpress 2.2 is out and I really need to upgrade. I installed it locally on my computer and restored the database from my website to see if it would go smoothly. Unfortunately I can’t seem to be able to test my template because it keeps redirecting to my live website instead of showing me the local install. So I have no idea how it’s going to turn out or what it’s going to look like after the upgrade.
I’ll be busy Monday night, but want to upgrade my site Tuesday. If all goes smoothly, it shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. If all does not go well, my site could look very strange for a long while (meaning, until I finish up some projects to free up some time to fix whatever went wrong).
Wish me luck.

I finally had the time to take a few minutes and update wordpress again… So that’s finally done.
For some reason, my email client on my Mac stopped letting me send emails from my elorg.net email addresses. I’ll have to investigate that - but it’s been happening for about a month? If you’ve sent an email to that address and haven’t gotten a reply back, that’s why. The replies are probably sitting in my outbox, complaining that it can’t send.
Sorry. I’ll post another update when I figured that one out.
I was going to try to fix my photo gallery, but it’s very demotivating to think about how many photos I already had imported, and all of the time I spent on organizing it, sorting through photos, and all of the visitor comments that were posted - all of which I lost during “the Great Data Loss from Ace-Host”. I was debating sticking with the phpGallery script that I’ve been using for a few years now, but now I’m tempted to go with something a bit more clean, simple, etc. - like Lussumo’s filebrowser.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
The down side to filebrowser is that I don’t think visitors can post comments. Though that’s not always a bad thing…
One more thing - I finally updated my webcam pic. I got my hair cut a little over a month ago. I cut almost all of it off. I was trying to see how long I could go without cutting my hair until I couldn’t take it any longer…
